we finished the sanding today, managed to clean the mountains of dust and put down a layer of the infamous universal undercoat. 4 rooms and a hall are now a murky white colour ready for their top coat of floor paint - heres hoping it will look lovely.

today i discovered that all the sanding i did on my knees was worthless, hadnt scratched the varnish - completeley without point. i had to go and rent a sanding machine and enough sand paper that i could almost not lift the roll. R800 worth of roll.
i always find it interesting to step into [...]

the place were the screw went into my foot doesnt really hurt any more today, but the raw blisters on my knees and ankles (from sanding the floor on them:( do a bit - specially when i go in the shower. they are covered in mecurachrome(sp?) so both jo and soph wanted to touch them, [...]

you know its bad when a plumber makes that sound. well today i went to the pool shop with a pink princess water bottle full of green pool water, and he would have made that sound, if he had been an english plumber. he thought the whole system needed repleacing but ’see if you can [...]

note to self - never leave the dado rails you have just levered off of the walls lying on the floor. also rubber croc type shoes are not reallythe proper foot wear for a work site
on the bright side - jo who lives over the road can give tetanus injections so i didnt have to [...]

just had my legs done at a salon for the first time - for anyone thinking of doing the same ITS MUCH MORE PAINFUL THAN DOING IT YOURSELF
so there you go, another lesson learnt.
